One of my favorite things to do during the summer is to kick back and watch shark films.
I’m a huge fan of shark horror, from the legendary Jaws to Open Water, and even the cheesy bad ones that everyone hates on… come on, you know you love them! That’s why I cannot wait to see 2018’s, Meg. We are definitely going to need a bigger boat for this fintastic flick!
Based on the novel Meg: A Novel of Deep Terror by Steve Alten. Meg was directed by Jon Turteltaub and written by Dean Georgaris. The story revolves around Captain Jonas Taylor (Jason Statham), a man who has been through hell and back after surviving a terrible accident caused by what he claimed to be a giant shark.
But, of course, no one believed him. Five years later, he gets recruited for an important mission to save some people who are trapped under water by 70-foot white shark… a supposedly prehistoric creature called a Megalodon. Could this be the same thing that attacked him?
Recently, two fan-made posters for Meg have been circulating and they’re jaw-droppingly beautiful. Artist David Graham created them, and they really help the audience paint a picture of how massive this prehistoric beast is going to be on screen.
Although I love both posters, I’m partial to the first – that’s one huge fin! Neither of these posters are official, but the concept is awesome. Both leave me wanting to see a trailer for Meg even more than before. Hopefully, we won’t have to wait too much longer as this film has been put off more than once.
Beyond Statham, the film stars Cliff Curtis, Rainn Wilson, Ruby Rose, Li Bingbing, Winston Chao, Page Kennedy, Jessica McNamee, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, Robert Taylor, Sophia Shuya Cai and Masi Oka. Meg is scheduled to be swimming its way to fans on August 10, 2018!
